When you encounter such a prompt, it is mostly because parallel P disks are used in the P disk process, and the number of P disks is greater than the number that the system can bear.
For every P disk, the system will enable a process named chia. Each process occupies about 5% of CPU, which depends on the performance of the CPU. The CPU with good performance occupies less, and the CPU with poor performance occupies more. The memory usage of each process is about 3600MB, and 1G memory is equal to 1024MB. In other words, P a disk needs to occupy about 3.5G of memory. This memory usage is the default in the CHIA wallet. Of course, you can also reduce or increase the memory. Increasing the memory will increase the speed of P disk to a certain extent. But it will not increase much.
Now let's do some calculations. P1 disk requires 5% of CPU and 3.5G of memory. Take the above server configuration as an example. 64G memory, minus 4G memory occupied by the system, 60G is left, and then divided by 3.5, the result is approximately equal to 17 disks. 17 disks multiplied by 5 equals 85% of CPU usage. The maximum efficiency of this server is to P17 disks at the same time. If more than 17 disks are set, for example, 20 disks are set to be P in parallel, then congratulations!ExplosionTo succeed, you need to start over again.
If you really encounter a disk explosion during the P disk process, and the system prompts chia.exe application error, don't panic. Click to confirm one by one, open the task manager, check the hard disk activity, and then check whether there is still a chia process in the process.
If the process still exists, don't worry, wait for the Chia process in the process to finish the P disk and it will automatically close. Or if you are worried about something going wrong, it is recommended that you end the process, restart the server, delete all the cache files generated in the temporary directory of Chia, and then restart the P disk task.
After the disk exploded, several chia processes were forced to close. After waiting for the end, the chia files in the process did not have the above problems, and the P disk was successful!
