Introduction to KMS Server

Activate Windows

Use the command to activate Windows in CMD.

Find the command prompt in the Windows system, right-click, click More, and run as administrator.

Note that you must run it as an administrator, otherwise you will not have permission to activate it. You need to operate in the Windows\system32 directory.

Step 1. Uninstall the key

slmgr /upk

After the command is entered, it will prompt that the key has been successfully uninstalled. If there is no key, it will prompt that the product key cannot be found.

Step 2. Install the key

slmgr /ipk VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T

For example: slmgr /ipk VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T

This is the key for Windows 11 activation.

Please find the key of your corresponding version in the key list below. After the installation is successful, proceed to the next step

Step 3. Set up the activation server

slmgr /skms kms.ghxi.com

The address entered here is the KMS activation server address kms.ghxi.com

After the prompt is set successfully, proceed to the next step

Step 4. Start Activating the Service

slmgr /ato

After inputting, press Enter and wait for a while, it will prompt that the activation is successful. If the activation fails, it may be that the key is invalid or the activation server is invalid.

Activate Office

OFFICE must be a VOL version, otherwise it cannot be activated. Generally, the VOL version is downloaded and can be downloaded from MSDN.

If you haven't installed Office yet, you can use the Office365 free download and installation, Office2013-2019 online installation version

Step 1. Run CMD and switch to the office installation directory

Let's take the activation of office2016 as an example:

Find your office installation directory, for example:

32-bit:C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16

64-bit:C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16

Office 2019 is just a small upgrade of 2016, so the catalog is the same as 2016

The Office2019 directory is office2016, Office16 is office2016, Office15 is 2013, and Office14 is 2010

Then if the directory is correct, there should be an OSPP.VBS under the directory

Next, we will enter this directory, for example (please change to your actual installation directory)

cd “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16”

Run the activation command

View the activation code that has been set

cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus

Uninstall the original activation code [xxxxx is the last five digits of the key]

cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:xxxxx

Set activation code [find below]

cscript ospp.vbs /inpkey:xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

To set up the activation server:

cscript ospp.vbs /sethst:kms.ghxi.com

Start activation:

cscript ospp.vbs /act

Wait for activation to succeed.

In addition, the activation key for Office does not include Visio. If Visio is also installed on your computer, you need to follow the above steps again and change the activation code to Visio's.

Windows and Office Key List

To use KMS, you need to have a KMS host available on your local network. Computers activated with a KMS host require a specific product key. This key is sometimes called a KMS client key, but its official name is a Microsoft Generic Volume License Key (GVLK). By default, computers running volume licensed versions of Windows Server and Windows Client are KMS clients with no additional configuration required because the associated GVLK already exists.
