Bard is powered by research into Large Language Models (LLMs), in particular LaMDALLM is a lightweight and optimized version of Google's , and will be updated with newer, more powerful models over time. It is based on Google's understanding of quality information. You can think of LLM as a prediction engine. When given a prompt, it generates responses by selecting one word at a time from the words that are likely to appear next. Choosing the most likely choice every time doesn't lead to very creative responses, so some flexibility is allowed for. We continue to see that the more people use them, the better LLMs get at predicting which responses are likely to be helpful.
While LLMs are an exciting technology, they are not without their shortcomings. For example, because they learn from a wide range of information that reflects real-world biases and stereotypes, these can sometimes appear in their output. They can provide inaccurate, misleading, or false information while presenting it confidently. For example, when asked to share some advice on simple houseplants, Bud convincingly presented the ideas… but it had a few errors, like the scientific name of the ZZ plant.

The countries where Google AI is open to the outside world for testing are the United States and the United Kingdom, and the artificial intelligence Bard that visits Google only understands English.
