What does TinyPNG do?
TinyPNG uses intelligent lossy compression techniques to reduce the size of WEBP, JPEG and PNG files.File size.By selectively reducing the number of colors in an image, fewer bytes are required to store the data. The effect is almost invisible, but it makes a big difference to file size!
Why should I use TinyPNG?
PNG is useful because it is the only widely supported format that can store partialTransparent imagesformat. This format uses compression, but the files can still be large. Use TinyPNG to shrink images for applications and websites. It will use less bandwidth andFaster loading speed.
Can anyone tell the difference?
Great question! Let me give you a side-by-side comparison. Below are two photos of my cousin. The left photo is directly from Adobe Photoshop Saved as 24-bit PNG. On the right is the same image processed with TinyPNG.Notice any difference?
How does it work?
Great question! When you upload a PNG (Portable Network Graphics) file, similar colors in the image are merged. This technique is called "quantization." By reducing the number of colors, a 24-bit PNG file can be converted to a much smaller 8-bit indexed color image. All unnecessary metadata is also removed. The result is a much better PNG file,100% Support transparency. Have your cake and eat it too!
In the above image, the file size is reduced70% and aboveI have good eyesight but I can't tell the difference! Using optimized images will save bandwidth and loading time, and your website visitors will thank you.
Is it supported everywhere?
Great question! TinyPNG generates files that can be viewed in all modern browsers.(including mobile devices)Still need support Internet Explorer 6? It normally ignores PNG transparency and displays the solid background color. With TinyPNG, the background is transparent again. Binary transparency, no workaround!
Is it safe to use animated PNG?
Great question!Chrome,Firefox, SafariAnd nowMicrosoft EdgeAll support APNG. Only Internet Explorer does not yet support the format.
along with iOS With the release of iOS 10, Apple added animated stickers to iMessage. If you want to create and compress stickers to under 500 KB, check outGithub onExample of iMessage Panda stickers.
What about Photoshop?
Great question! Only Photoshop CC 2015 or later can save images as indexed PNG files with alpha transparency. It's not possible with other versions, and Photoshop CS5 can't even display them correctly.
You can useSave for WebExport your images as 24-bit transparent PNG files and upload them to TinyPNG. We will convert them to tiny indexed PNG files. You can also installTinyPNG Photoshop pluginIt allows you to scale, preview, and save compressed PNG and JPEG images directly from Photoshop.
