According to a Reuters report on November 18, 2019, Japan's SoftBank plans to merge its Internet subsidiary Yahoo! Japan (now renamed Z Holding) with South Korea's Naver's messaging software Line to create a technology giant with a market value of US$30 billion. The two parties plan to sign a final agreement in December 2019 and complete the merger by October 2020.
