Agent Type:
Elite: Http Elite proxies are the most secure of all proxies. This is because they do not send any requested information back from the server.
Anonymous: Anonymous proxies do hide your IP, but they send back information that could reveal your identity.
Socks: They are mainly used by programs. They act as a buffer between the web browser and the server.
Transparent: Transparent proxies do not hide your IP, but you can use them to speed up the Internet. They work faster.

In Windows, you can make system-wide changes directly from the Control Panel. To do this: First, from the Connection Wizard, navigate to Network and Internet Options > Internet Options > LAN Settings. From there, select Proxy Server and provide the proxy IP and port details to continue.
Steps to set up a proxy server on different browsers.
Chrome:
Step 1: Open the Chrome browser, click on the top right corner, you will find 3 dots in the vertical direction.
Step 2: Go to Settings > Advanced > System and select Open your computer's proxy settings
Step 3: In the Internet Properties Wizard, turn on the "Use a proxy server" switch under Manual Proxy Settings.
Step 4: Enter the proxy server address and port, then click Save.
Now, all traffic from your Chrome browser will be routed through the proxy server.
Opera browser:
The proxy setup on Opera is very simple as shown below:
Step 1: Go to the browser menu and click Settings
Step 2: Select Browser > Network > Change Proxy Settings
Internet Explorer:
Open your browser and click the gear icon. Select Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings
Firefox:
Proxy settings are hardly any different in Firefox browser.
Step 1: Go to the Firefox menu and select Options
Step 2: At the bottom of the page, you can see Network Proxy. Click the Settings button.
Step 3: Then the connection settings will open. Select Manual Proxy Configuration and enter the proxy IP and port details and click OK.
Safari:
Go to Preferences > Advanced > Proxies > Change settings... > LAN settings
When you are finished, if you no longer want your Internet traffic to go through the proxy server, you can turn off the proxy to reset to your normal Internet connection.
